Maskwa Classical Osteopathy Inc.

Caring For Your Health, Naturally.

Maskwa Classical Osteopathy Inc, was founded by Kathy Teal, as the culmination of her work, education, experience and wisdom. With a BSc. in Exercise Science (Athletic Therapy) from Concordia, she went to complement that degree with successful registration in the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, where she gained further recognition as a Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage & Decongestive Therapist. Today, with her education rounded out with a Masters in Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences, she implements a total body approach to adjustment. This allows her to draw from all the facets of skills available to her, supporting her philosophy to provide the most effective therapy to her patients through Classical Osteopathic principles involving:

- Muscle Energy

- Myofascial Release Techniques

- Strain/Counterstrain

- Functional Techniques

- Visceral

- Cranial Sacral Approaches

- Lymphatic drainage

Kathy supports her own philosophy of self care by putting the things she most loves, first – her husband and her dogs! Walking, hiking and golfing keep her body moving, her mind clear and everyone happy!! One treatment with Kathy can change the way you manage your approach to whole body health.

Kathy is a Professional member of the Alberta Association of Osteopathic Manual Therapist, the Institute of Classical Osteopathy in England and she is also an Associate member of Ontario Osteopathic Association.

If you are unsure whether Osteopathic treatment will be able to help your specific condition, we encourage you to contact Kathy directly to discuss your situation and concerns with her.

How Long Will it Take to See Results?

Depending on the nature of the problem, Kathy's patients typically note significant improvements within a very short period, usually after only two – five visits. In most cases, only a few visits are needed before a complete restoration of function is observed. In more severe cases, a more prolonged approach may be required. However, it is Kathy’s firm belief that patients should be treated with the utmost care, provided in the fewest amount of visits possible.

What Can You Expect On Your First Visit?

The initial consultation and examination lasts about one hour. (Please note: patients are asked to wear comfortable clothing)

Your case history is discussed, to better understand the nature of your condition.

An osteopathic examination is carried out in order to form an overall treatment plan.

Treatment will be followed by a discussion with you about the findings.
